We have been using this device for almost a week. We will discuss about some different things which we noticed with this device.
To be very honest this time it is very small upgrade to OnePlus 6T than OnePlus 6 you need not to upgrade if you are using OnePlus 6 or OnePlus 5T wait for 6 months OnePlus 7 will be a good buy as it will support 5G bands.
Let’s discuss about the things which we like about OnePlus 6T
As compared to OnePlus 6 the 6T is having a bigger screen as notch is now replaced by waterdrop style and at the bottom also the chin of Display bezels are also thinner, so it gives very immersive experience to use. If you use the navigation option which OnePlus has give you will enjoy a lot, but the display is Full HD plus not Quad HD Plus, but the quality of Display is very good and in terms of auto brightness the display under the direct sunlight performs very well display is crystal clear you can see everything without any flaws.
OnePlus 6T is very fast device we would say it is the fastest device which we used so far, in day to day usage you wouldn’t find any sort of lag as Oxygen OS is very fluid, snappy all thanks to Oxygen OS. It is powered by QUALCOMM Snapdragon 845 SoC in terms of performance there is no difference in OnePlus 6 and 6T
In-Display finger print scanner
As far we have tested the in-Display finger print scanner of other phone OnePlus 6T fingerprint scanner is fastest this the great work done by OnePlus team. It is not as fast as the one on OnePlus 6 but comparing to other In-display Fingerprint scanner phones it is faster with in 24 hours you will get used to of it, as it’s not like normal fingerprint scanner which we are habitual of but surely it is snappier and more secure. When we receive this phone the fingerprint scanner on OnePlus 6T was bit slower but after the first update it works well.
Here we have seen a significant improvement as OnePlus 6T is having 400 mAh more than OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T will easily give you around 1 hour to 1.5 hours of extra screen on time as compared to OnePlus 6. Generally, OnePlus 6 is giving me around 5 to 6 hours of screen on time on typical usage and OnePlus 6T can easily go about 7 to 8 hours of screen on time very easily. So, in battery life there is good improvement.
For normal user it will easily last for 36 hours and for a casual user it can easily last about 48 hours.
Oxygen OS updates
One of the things which I love about this device is the Oxygen OS the company is doing the great job in pushing the updates and visual experience near to stock android with some improvements, so far it is the best operating system in android It is very fast, fluid, snappy so it is a trump card for OnePlus 6T.
As OnePlus is pushing updates very quickly which is very good no other company pushes updates and fix bugs so fast as OnePlus does. The Oxygen OS is a perfect match for hardware and software which gives the user seam less experience.
OnePlus 6T as in rear it is having 16M+20M Sony IMX371 Sensors Aperture of f/1.7 stabilization OIS +EIS and can record Slow motion videos up to 480fps. Which is what similar to OnePlus 6 so what is new in it here is what new in it.
There are lot of ways to capture fabulous photos from the selection of manual mode but its not handy for everyone to keep doing the manual setting and try to get fabulous photo does not matter what lightning condition is and every one is not handy with the manual mode or pro mode.
As capturing a photo is not clicking a photo it is capturing the moment so if anyone wants to capture some moment and the lightning condition are not that great what option does it have either play around manual mode or just click the snap.
Oneplus came with a solution which they implemented in Oneplus 6T called Nightscape it involves two major improvements one is HDR algorithm that OnePlus developed and with Night Mode it only takes 2 Sec to capture photos that is commendable as other phone in low lightning takes mare that 2 Sec.
Nightscape on Oneplus 6
Nightscape Mode & Studio Lightning is also available on OnePlus 6.
Portraits photography is not only capture photo and blur the background it is capturing the faces in best possible way make the moment live out it. OnePlus innovation director (Kevin Abosh) come with a solution called studio lightning. The OnePlus could able to with help of software tuning the lightning effect and playing around dimension going through the depth of the character you want to shoot. And from here the tern came out Studio Lightning which is coming to OnePlus 6T.
New Gesture Navigation for OnePlus 6T:
Company also stated that the navigation gesture system will be improved for the upcoming device. A new gesture has been added – swiping from the bottom of the screen towards the right will quickly switch to the last used app. Smooth Navigation Gesture 2.0 & Loads Faster with smart boost This feature are missing in OnePlus 6.
Things we did not like about OnePlus 6T
No 3.5mm jack as every company is removing 3.5 mm jack from their devices hence, OnePlus also did the same we were not expecting this change from OnePlus as still 90% people love to use earphones directly to their phone and frankly I would say caring a dongle every time is not a good point as it’s a small thing can easily be lost and some times we like to watch movies while charging or want to be on conference call and battery runs out at that time how can we plug earphones though it has a DASH fast charger but then too for me its not something good as I have lots of earphones so overtime using dongle is not my preference.
Pricing as OnePlus as the company made their market with a statement Budget Flagship but we will not say this now as the price is consistently increasing from the past flagship so the time is not far when OnePlus will sell their smartphone equivalent to the price of Samsung & we are sure to see the OnePlus 7 base model with the price tag of 39,999 (INR).
Should you upgrade?
Wait for OnePlus 7 if you are using smartphone even the OnePlus 3 we would do not upgrade at this time as the new era is coming that is of 5G and any of these phones will not support 5G so its better to wait for OnePlus 7 as it will also have the improved camera and 5G support. If you want to save some money, then wait for some time surely near New year sale will go on where OnePlus look forward to clear out its stock you will get great deal at that time for the now stick to your phone this will be our suggestion.
