The speed You Need the tag line of OnePlus which specify how fast their devices are a perfect match of hardware and software. Since the launch of OnePlus 6 Avenger Edition, we were wondering OnePlus will also introduce some special edition to the market of OnePlus 6T initially we were expecting, a Porshe Edition of OnePlus 6T but already Huawei has launched its Porshe edition Smartphone we were Skeptical that OnePlus will go with it or not.
Hence, something else has evolved with time and OnePlus has perfectly applied their tag line Speed you Need with the launch of OnePlus 6t Mclaren Edition. As part of its new partnership with McLaren.
Let’s check out what OnePlus 6T Mclaren Edition Offers other than normal OnePlus 6T.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is more than just a fancier-looking version of its 6T. For starters, it packs 10GB of RAM and 256GB of storage as standard. It also comes with OnePlus’ new 30W Warp charger in the retail box. Means it will support new 30W charger not the normal Dash Charge which we used to see since the launch of OnePlus 3, Dash Charge in itself is very promising and fast.
30W Wrap Charge
OnePlus says the new Warp Charge 30 charger can refuel the McLaren 6T’s 3700mAh battery up to 50 percent faster than the Dash Charge (formerly Dash Charge) system on other OnePlus phones. It sounds a lot like a rebranded version of the Super VOOC system that debuted on the Oppo Find X Lamborghini in October, which was able to charge that phone to full in just 35 minutes, though OnePlus maintains that Warp Charge and Super VOOC are different technologies.
Dash Charge is already one of the fastest wired charging systems available on any smartphone, so making it even faster is impressive. The company says only the McLaren version of the 6T will achieve the fastest charging speeds with the included charger; other OnePlus devices will default to standard Fast Charge speeds when plugged into it.
Design & Specification
Visually, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has no change when we see it from front but from back it looks more like Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition. The 6T McLaren Edition has a glossy black rear panel with a carbon fiber pattern underneath that shows up under direct light.
The side and bottom edges of the phone have the McLaren signature Papaya Orange accent color which shines through at certain angles. The McLaren logo at the rear breaks light into different color patterns.
Warp Charge is almost as impressive as the phone itself. The charger in the retail package packs 30 watts of power and transfers them into the phone through a beefy orange braided color cable.
OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition packs a 6.41-inch 1080x2340px Optic AMOLED, a dual 16MP f/1.7 camera on the rear, 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera, in-display fingerprint scanner and a Snapdragon 845 chipset. Same we found on OnePlus 6 and 6T so on hardware side there is no change except 10GB ram and 30W charger. We think 10GB ram in day to day usage will not make any difference and practically it’s not even possible to use 10GB of ram in a one go. But securing the future is the best part one buying OnePlus devices can easily run their devices more than 2 years without any flaws.
OnePlus has also given the McLaren edition some software tweaks, such as a black and orange theme (have you noticed a trend yet?) and a special animation when the in-screen fingerprint scanner is used to unlock the phone.
OnePlus 6T Maclaren Edition Skins
May be OnePlus 6T consumer could use some Dbrand skins or gadgetshieldz skins in way to look their OnePlus 6T like Maclaren edition surely, it will not look exactly the same, but one can go with it in case they want to make their smartphone cooler. Soon these companies will introduce these Maclaren Skins for the consumer.
Price & Availability
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will go on sale on December 13 in Western Europe and North America, priced at €699/£649/$699/50,999(INR) and later, sales will follow in India and China in couple of days.
We think if you are planning to upgrade and want to buy something which will keep you apart from crowd then this the best option you have as with 10GB of ram you are secured for more than two years and OnePlus is known for fast updates similar, to Google Pixel devices and their color OS is very snappy and fast which keeps its apart from crowd.
But if you are classy person who are looking for minimalistic design smartphone coming from a very old brand Like Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG we will say to you to wait for 2019 as buying now expensive smartphone will block your money. As every country and smartphone maker are looking forward to 5G so its worth waiting at least till 2019. As 5G modems from Qualcomm and MediaTek is already launched so in early 2019 we are surely seeing the 5G smartphone even the Samsung S10, OnePlus 7 etc. will have 5G support and every other 2019 flagship will have 5G support.
And if you are an iPhone lover and still you are reading this article then we have something for you too news says till 2020 Apple will not launch their 5G smartphone that’s right because launching something which is not in use is not what Apple does it will launch 5G when it will be used in masses.
The 70$ or 5,000 (INR) difference between the McLaren edition and the normal 256GB 6T largely goes towards the unique branding and accessories that come with the McLaren version. Is that enough to justify the cost? For some hardcore McLaren fans, possibly. What you think do let us know in the comment section.
