Huawei P30 Pro Fantastic Flagship phone with DSLR in Pocket.

Its been a long since 2018 we all have been waiting for the perfect phone having a super-fast performance, incredible battery life, a bezel-less screen, and a camera that competes with the Google Pixel on quality and perform better than Google Pixel 3 and having a DSLR Zoom in pocket? If you wanted such a device from very long then you can now have one.

Huawei P30 Pro is that device, it’s a flagship device by Huawei which does not compromise on anything. Fabulous Display with good viewing angels and how can we forget that camera Huawei has implemented on it which can capture what naked eyes cannot see, great battery life and what not. Today, in Paris the device was introduced for early hands on so on that basis we will discuss what it can offer you.

Design and In-hand feel of P30 Pro

P30 Pro feels sturdy to hold and it is almost same size, shape, and thickness as practically every other Android flagship phone on the market today. Due to its metal frame, the phone felt surprisingly heavy to hold despite actually weighing in at a light 165g. Huawei P30 Pro has a chin that’s about a millimeter thicker, and it features probably the world’s smallest notch till date, which is literally just a laser cutout for the selfie camera as, it is not what we see on Samsung S10 Plus but it is placed exactly in the middle of the Display on top which somewhat gives feeling of notch design.Huawei P30 Pro

There is a volume rocker and power button on the right side of the device and a USB-C port to the bottom – there’s also the surprise there is no 3.5mm headphone jack. The P30 Pro comes with IP68 rating for full dust and waterproofing.

In P30 Pro we would not be seeing the earpiece for answering calls the company has replaced it with their new Technology an electromagnetic levitation to vibrate the top of the screen to generate call audio. That means there are no stereo speakers on this phone, and there are also more discreet phone calls because call sound will only propagate in one direction.Huawei P30 Pro

The P30 Pro has curved glass on both the front and back, but it’s a much gentler slope, something a lot closer in form to Samsung’s latest Galaxy S devices.

The Huawei P30 comes with a 6.1-inch OLED Full HD+ screen, with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. In our experience colors really popped on the display, with softer tones looking especially vibrant, while contrast was also good, both in photos we took and in the phone’s wallpaper and user interface.Huawei P30 Pro

The display also houses the in-screen fingerprint sensor, Huawei also says that its new in-display fingerprint scanner, which remains optical (as opposed to pressure-sensitive alternatives like Samsung’s ultrasonic part), is 30 percent faster than the one on the Mate 20 Pro.

Huawei P30 Pro houses 7nm Kirin 980 processor that Huawei designed itself, which I really enjoyed in my time reviewing the Mate 20 Pro and the Honor View 20. It is a flagship processor by Huawei, P30 Pro will be bundled with 8GB of RAM and storage options from 128GB to 512GB.

Camera {The Highlighting Part}

1.Ultra wide angle: 20MP, 16mm, f/2.2
2.Main sensor: 40MP, 27mm, f/1.6, OIS
3.Telephoto: 8MP, 125mm, f/3.4, OIS

The camera is the main selling point of the Huawei P30, so here are some sample shots.

Huawei has made a major change to the way the main camera on its phones work, in that instead of picking up RGB (red, green, blue) color as most cameras do, apparent improvement in image quality of P30 Pro is the new RYYB Super Spectrum in main camera sensor – the two Ys stand for yellow, and by using this model the phone can pick up both green and additional red lights, which according to Huawei means more color and brightness information can be gathered.

This main camera is the 40MP f/1.6 main Super Spectrum camera, which is joined by 20MP f/2.2 ultra-wide and 8MP f/2.4 ‘optical periscope’ telephoto cameras. Together this triple rear camera array is meant to take some amazing pictures.

It’s still a 40-megapixel sensor that defaults to producing 10-megapixel shots by combining four pixels into one, but each pixel is now different. Huawei has replaced the RGB sub-pixel arrangement with one featuring red, blue, and yellow color sensors. And since the yellow sensors will absorb both red and green light, Huawei says this new arrangement soaks up 40 percent lighter than RGB, which leads to better, cleaner photos. The Super Spectrum part is on both phones the P30 Pro and the P30.

The reason for that big vertical slab of cameras on the back of the P30 Pro is, of course, this phone’s zoom capabilities. In order from top to bottom: you get an ultra-wide-angle lens for grand architecture or big group photos; the main camera, which is now augmented with optical image stabilization; and a new periscope zoom lens that offers 5x optical zoom. Huawei claims that, by combining the image data from the main camera and the telephoto lens, the P30 Pro can produce a 10x lossless zoom.

The Huawei P30 Pro time-of-flight (ToF) camera is just amazing and the way it enhances portrait mode on this phone. Using the depth information from the ToF sensor, the camera is much more precise about identifying its subject and neatly separating the person from the background. The bokeh in Portrait mode is less pronounced if the subject is closer and increasingly softer and blurrier as you get further away from it (may be in future by software update it can resolve it). But for now it means you won’t get the 2D cutout effect with portrait photos.

The Huawei P30 has a whopping 32MP Selfie camera that’s a lot more powerful than you’d need for your average social media selfie. It also took good-looking pictures, and we particularly liked how subtle the beauty mode filters where they did a nice, understated job of smoothing features and thinning the face, although color shifts were a bit more noticeable.

On the video front, Huawei is promising to add a “Dual Video” recording function that will shoot simultaneous video from both the main and the telephoto sensor, combining them into a single widescreen side-by-side video. This will come as part of a future software update.

Huawei P30 packs 3,650mAh battery, P30 Pro supports wireless charging and it comes with the 40W Supercharge fast charger bundled in the box, which Huawei suggests can power the phone from 0% to 70% in only half an hour – an incredibly quick time if true.
