There are only two smartphone we know till date which are supporting 10X zooming capabilities one is Huawei P30 Pro and the other is Oppo Reno 10x zoom debuted a few days ago as the first phone to feature a 10x hybrid zoom. But which is the most impressive one and which one comes with the highest value for money? We will discover it together through this spec’s comparison.
OPPO Reno Vs Huawei P30 Pro
Huawei always managed to equip its flagship smartphones with amazing display. It may not have the most impressive display out there, but it is an amazing OLED panel supporting HDR10 technology and DCI-P3 technology, which provide a very nice color reproduction.
On the other hand, Oppo Reno 10x zoom has a larger 6.6-inch OLED display (one of the bigger ones among actual flagship devices).
In design department my full vote goes to Oppo Reno 10x zoom. As Its astonishing screen-to-body ratio and its shark fin-like pop-up selfie camera are something amazing. It is one of the devices with the narrowest bezels, and it also comes with a strong Gorilla Glass 6 for display protection.
On the other hand, Huawei P30 Pro has a standard waterdrop display that we have already seen dozens of times, but its bezels are incredibly narrow, and its display is curved at the sides, so it has a lot more to offer in terms of aesthetics. Further, unlike the Oppo Reno 10x zoom, it is waterproof with the IP68 certification and it can go up to 2 meters deep. Both the devices come with an in-display fingerprint reader making their back cover clean and elegant.
The hardware is not the strongest point of the Huawei P30 Pro if we compare it with the most expensive flagships out there. Even Oppo Reno 10x zoom is a lot more convincing, as it has Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset which can be faster in most of the environments. But Huawei P30 Pro also comes with Huawei Hisilicon Kirin 980, octa-core 2.6 GHz its a Huawei Flagship processor but comparing to Snapdragon 855 its not that powerful.
Each of these two phones is among the best camera phones ever, and each one offers its own advantages. The Oppo Reno 10x zoom is better when it comes to color reproduction thanks to its OIS-backed 48 MP main sensor. It also comes with the most impressive zooming capabilities: its 13 MP periscope lens has the new 10x hybrid zoom proprietary technology demoed at MWC 2019. On the other hand, Huawei P30 is better when it comes to photos in low light conditions, thanks to its new RYYB sensor which replaces green with yellow in the RGB paradigma. It also has a TOF 3D camera that is not present on the Oppo Reno 10x zoom.
We still did not test Oppo Reno 10x zoom’s battery life, but given that the capacity is similar (4065 vs 4200 mAh) and the specs sheets belong to the same segment, we do not expect noticeable differences. But it is worth noting that Huawei P30 Pro comes with a wireless charging technology and reverse wireless charging, while Oppo Reno 10x zoom does not.
Storage & OS
In both smartphones, you can expand the internal storage, but while Oppo Reno 10x zoom has a micro SD slot, Huawei P30 Pro is equipped with a nano memory card slot that is a new SIM-like expansion card released by Huawei, so it is harder to find. Both have Android 9 Pie out of the box, customized by the Color OS and the EMUI user interface, respectively.

Price and Verdict
Oppo Reno 10x zoom is available to purchase starting from just €550/$621, while Huawei P30 Pro starts from €880/$995. If I had to choose one smartphone among both these smartphone then, I would personally go for the OPPO Reno because of Snapdragon 855 SoC, the new shark fin design for front facing camera and obviously the price constraint as it is cheaper than Huawei P30 Pro.
